Anthony Russo Obituary

Anthony John Russo

Tinton Falls - Anthony John Russo, 60, of Tinton Falls, passed away peacefully at home with his loving family at his side after a courageous eight month battle with pancreatic cancer on Wednesday, April 25. Anthony grew up in Carteret, and was a 1976 graduate of Carteret High School, and a 1985 graduate of the School of Hard Knocks. During his lifetime, Anthony embraced the entrepreneurial spirit with a Gold's Gym Franchise, a management position in Empowered Learning, and several of his own real estate ventures. But by far, Anthony's deepest joy in life were his two daughters, Summer Rae, 22 and Emma Rose, 19. He is survived by his two daughters, both of New York City, his mother Maryann, of Tinton Falls, his father, Rocky, of Ramsey, his brother Martin, of Greentown, Pa., a sister, Susan and her wife, Birgit, of San Francisco, CA, and many cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. A celebration of life mass will be held at St. Rose Catholic Church, 603 7th Avenue, Belmar at 1:30 pm on Saturday, May 5, and immediately following a repast at Kelly's Corner Tavern in Neptune. Since this is a celebration of Anthony's life, attendees are encouraged to wear something yellow, Anthony's favorite color. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Anthony Russo In Memorium Fund on GoFundMe.com.
