I heard of Bruce's passing over the weekend via a mutual friend who we worked with at Alloy Polymers over 20 years ago. I hadn't seen Bruce in some time...I know he was a good man, with strong ideals and dedication to his work, and he cared deeply for his family and friends. The world is a little darker with his passing. My thoughts are with his family.

Dear Caysee and family,
I am so very sorry to learn of Bruce's death. I remember our trip to Richmond for your wedding! What a lovely event that was. My husband Al was the minister who performed your marriage. And I taught either Bruce or Brian in Kindergarten. Can't remember which one it was! We retired to PA. In 1997. Al died almost three years ago but I still live here in this golf community.
I will be in touch with Arlene and Charlie, but am using this way to reach out to you. May God give you the comfort and peace that you will need in the future.
My love, Lois Gibson

My little cousin, Bruce......20 years apart and living on opposite coasts did not allow for much time together, but it is absolutely amazing how this man made all that not count one iota when we did connect! I remember the little imp he was as young kid...always in your face, grinning, making trouble and being his charming self. In his twenties, while attending a Frisbee event in Southern CA, he made a special trip up to No. CA for a visit! I was 40 - he was 20! THere could have been plenty of other things for him to do in California, I'm sure! Just last May, he had business in Phoenix, where I now live. WE had dinner with my husband, Bob upon his arrival. He, then suggested he spend the afternoon with me at my house the next day.....so we could keep up the conversation! For at least 4 hours we went non stop, before he had to go to a business dinner. He continued to stay in touch through FB. He was crazy about Caycee and his kids and so wanted me to meet them.
I just loved this guy! Everything good a man could be. It is devastating for him to be gone and such a huge blessing that we shared some time with him on this earth. My love to everyone in the family.

To the Buscaglia family, I am so saddened by your loss. Bruce was one the nicest and kindest persons I knew. Even though I didn't see him a lot but when I did he always took an interest in how I was doing and what was new in Virginia Beach. My thoughts and prayers go out to your entire family. Always remember that those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day...

It was so fun remembering him & Ronnie visiting me at U of FL at their ECU event ( & the rest of the memories we've shared since kindergarten!),your hospitality & just hanging out on your deck & reminiscing! Those triplets were a big part of a lot of our lives in Freehold! Bruce was so loved & loved you, Caroline & Ryan so much, was so proud of all of you! Like I told you before, you are one strong lady...you, Caroline & Ryan will always have him watching over you!

Casey, I so saddened by your families sudden loss. You and Bruce are a part of my memories of ECU. Can't count the number of times we partied at the Attic after Bruce would look skeptically at my latest "ID". Sitting on the sidelines at Ultimate Frisbee games. Or when we reconnected at weddings or ECU reunions. My prayers are with you, Caroline, Ryan and your entire extended family.

Caycee, There are truly no words that can even begin to explain what we all are feeling about the loss of Bruce. Your family welcomed us into WP 22 years ago and we have been fortunate to keep crossing paths after we moved. I am so thankful. Will forever remember Bruce's warm, friendly, smile...a little mischievious too...which is what I loved about him. You are no stranger to crisis and I know you will continue to be strong throughout this next journey, but please know that we are here for you. We are your village! Special hugs to Ryan and Caroline. Bruce was one of their biggest cheerleaders and supporters, without a doubt. Love is eternal and memories are forever. Much love and prayers are coming your way.

You all have my deepest condolences for this loss.
Bruce was a loved coworker with a great presence. He was very serious, but knew how to lighten the mood when that was required.
When sharing a beer after work he would lighten the mood even if it wasn't required.
He will be missed.

About a year ago Mio and I bought tickets to "National Geographic Live". It is where some of the most amazing people throughout the world come to explain their adventures. Last night there was a show and honestly I was not looking forward to going. The woman who spoke was one of the most awarded photographers in the world. When she started she was a war photographer taking some of the most horrific photographs. Then one day she was coming back from a shoot and heard a sound coming out of a war torn building and walked in. It was dark and dreary and then as she walked in a bit more and she saw the most remarkable thing, a wedding. At that moment she learned that even at the worst time possible in peoples lives there was still so much good going on if you looked for it. This reminded me of Bruce, no matter how bad the day Bruce always was able to see the good things and make our team feel warm and happy. He always saw the good in people and events. He always could make us laugh.
Caroline and Ryan, Bruce and I talked almost everyday as part of my team. There was never a day he didn't have a story about how proud he was of you both. We all loved to hear about your swimming events and cross country running and how you both were turning into such fine individuals. Your dad was loved by everyone on our team and is like family to all of us. He was taken from us early but it is not always the number of years but what you do in that time and how you impact the people around you. Your father had so much love and impact on our team that the two years we knew him made us feel like we knew him and you all for a lifetime.
May you all find piece in knowing all the positives ways Bruce touched our lives here at DuPont. We will miss him everyday but never be lonely because of all the great things he did for us.

Bruce, We will miss you. One of my most lasting impressions of you is during a Quest bubble up' (or maybe it was a bubble down'). You were always in one of the commanding roles during those epic biannual events. We were having a brief break out in the parking lot by your pick up truck and you told me what your dream was to do during retirement: to serve on emergency rescue missions for the red cross during disasters. Wow. That is a hell of a retirement plan! For me that sums you up, Bruce.your leadership, gregarious nature, and generosity combined with strength and a strong sense of adventure.
We just got the patio and screened in porch cleaned off, and Rich is itching to get a fire going and grill some meat. We were talking about how overdue we are for a get-together with the gang. What I would give for one more of those dinners, but your memory and your spirit are strong. You will be with us always.
Rest in Peace, Bruce.

To Caycee, Caroline, Ryan and all of the wonderful Buscaglia family,
We are so sorry for your loss. Bruce was one of the first people we met when we moved to Walton Park over 20 years ago, and he was the best neighbor we could have hoped for. Always with a smile on his face and ready to help in times of need--and of course, never without a good story to tell! We will miss him terribly and will keep all of you in our thoughts and prayers.
All our love,
Anne & Dan McLaughlin
