Carl Sullo

AGE: 96 • Toms River

Carl Edward Sullo of Toms River, passed away peacefully at 96 years old on Tuesday, Jan. 26, 2015 at Fountain View Care Center, Lakewood, five years to the day after the loss of his adored wife, May "Peggy" Sullo. Born in Plainfield, he lived in Chatham Township and Sebastian, Florida before moving to Greenbriar Woodlands, Toms River in 2005.

Carl, known as "Charlie", graduated from North Plainfield High School where he was a star basketball player. He served honorably during WWll as a corporal in the USAAF. He was an accomplished golfer with many club championships and even a hole-in-one at Somerset Hills G.C. on April 16, 1973 when playing with the New York Yankee pitching great and close friend, Ralph Terry. Early in his career Carl worked for Mack Trucks but was later employed by several famous golf courses including Plainfield Country Club in Edison, NJ, Roxiticus Country Club in Mendham, NJ and Jonathan's Landing Country Club in Jupiter, Florida.

Carl is survived by his brother, Louis Sullo (Helen), nieces, nephews, extended family and many friends, who will remember his generosity and humor with great fondness.
