Carolyn VanWickle Obituary
AGE: 85 • Brick
Carolyn M. Van Wickle, 85, of Brick, passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at Haven at Shorrock Gardens, Brick. Born in Neptune, she resided in Freehold, Farmingdale, Manasquan and Sea Girt before moving to Brick. Carolyn worked at the Freehold Court House in the probation department before she became owner and operator of Lakewood's Napa Auto Parts in 1967. She opened Van Wickle Auto Parts in Freehold in 1969, a second store in Spring Lake in 1977 and currently there are three Van Wickle Auto Parts locations.
In addition to her business accomplishments, Carolyn was a loving mother, grandmother and aunt who will be truly missed. She was predeceased by her husband, Marvin in 1970 and her sister, Tasia Earlywine. She is survived by her two sons and a daughter-in-law, Craig of Brick, and Ken and Mary of Manasquan; three siblings and a brother-in-law, Catherine and Arthur Miller, Athena Stryker and Augusta Fortune; and her grandchild, Kenny.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Freeman Funeral Home, 47 East Main Street, Freehold on Friday, Feb. 6, from 4 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Interment will follow at Maplewood Cemetery. Craig and Ken, I am so sorry for the loss of your mother. My Mom (Aunt Tasia) has been for 18years and I miss her every day. I do know the loss you are feeling and it will get easier in time. Once again so sorry.
