Sayreville - Charles David "CJ" Treihart III, 22, found eternal peace while surrounded by his adoring family. Born in Perth Amboy, CJ was a lifelong resident of Sayreville. While attending Sayreville High School, CJ would often frequent the Sayreville Skate Park, where he enjoyed countless hours riding his scooter with friends. When he wasn't at the skate park, CJ proudly drove his prized BMW around town. A relentless fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the NY Mets, CJ was often seen wearing his gear to support "his" teams. Recently, CJ was employed at "Piece of Mind" Solutions in Pompano Beach, Florida, while working on his recovery from addiction.

CJ is survived by his devoted parents, Barbara Peters Treihart and Charles Treihart, Jr. of Sayreville and his beloved grandparents, Patricia and Charles "Butch" Treihart, Sr., and Linda and Joseph Peters as well as many aunts, uncles, and cousins. Throughout his life, CJ shared an indescribable bond with his grandfather, Butch. The very best of friends, Butch was always CJ's first choice for a round of golf or to simply hang out. CJ is also survived by his counselor and friend, Travis Benfaida, as well as his close friend, Christina Magoo. Both provided CJ with a great deal of support and unconditional love . Lastly, CJ will also be greatly missed by his devoted dog, Dallee.

In lieu of flowers, CJ's parents kindly request that donations be made in CJ's honor to the Brandon Tyler Narleski Fund, which was started upon the tragic death of CJ's longtime childhood friend who was killed by a drunk driver. Visitation will be held at Carmen Spezzi Funeral Home on Cherry Lane in Parlin on Monday, April 16th from 4pm- 8pm. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, April 17th at Our Lady of Victories Church at 9:30. Cremation will be private.
