The memories of summers in Maine with Claire, Bill and your family flood my mind. The sudden unexpected lose of Claire reminds us all of how fragile and fleeting life really is. My families heart goes out to each of you. I can however say from experience and with assurance that your mothers legacy of devotion to her family, compassion for others, wonderful sense of humor and wisdom will help to guide you forward. I consider it a privilege to have had Claire as a friend and a role model to me as well as my children. I pray that you will all be able to go forward with joyful memories of a life well lived, times well spent, and a women deeply loved by all.

Ann, I am very sorry for your loss. I know what means to lose your parents. The impossibility of talking to them and hearing their voices is unreplaceable. My prayers are with you and your family.

Dear Paula, Ann, Carrie, and Families,
We are very sorry for your loss.
Claire was a very strong, capable, loving, and wonderful woman. She set a great example for all of us, and we were very fortunate to know her. She and Bill were very kind in accepting Willie and Mike into your family so long ago, especially when she already had you three girls, a big house, and a classroom full of grade school kids to deal with. (I hear her red-food-coloring-on-the-tongue lie detector test was very effective. “If you’re lying, it’ll turn red.”)
We will all miss Claire very much. Now she has rejoined Bill.
All our love,
Uncle Frank, Marilyn, and Kate

Paula, Ann & Carrie
I am so sorry to hear about the loss of your Mother. I can't get over how I just saw her this summer with Carrie and we chatted for a long time and talked about getting together in the Fall, I am so glad I had that short time with her. We shared times from the past and had many laughs. That is the one thing I will always remember about your Mother is her great gift of laughter.
I told Carrire the other day I know Marilyn will be in good hands with your mother there to watch out for her and make sure she isn't getting into too much trouble!
My thoughts and prayers are with all of you in this very difficult time.
Love,
Holly Wheaton-Subhan

Dear Carrie, Ann and Paula, I am truly sorry to hear of your mom's passing. I only found out the other night when Dede emailed me and told me your mom was ill. Some of the best memories I have growing up in Sea Girt was with Carrie, by far, and I still laugh to this day! I will always remember and cherish the good times I had at your home and your parents were so sweet. May God bless you and your family. Sincerely with love, Colleen
