Connie Mierta, 84, born August 3, 1929 passed away at home, in Waretown, surrounded by the love of her family on May 1, 2014. Connie made her mark positive and indelible on anyone fortunate to know her. Dance, sing, love, help, give, dream, smile, encourage, create, and plan...blur the line between family and friends, they become one. This was Connie's way. A woman of smiles and kindness, she was an active member of the Holiday Beach Club and last employed by Patel Freelance as the director of human resources.
Connie was the wife of 58 years to Victor B. Mierta (predeceased), mother of Ray (Jackie) Mierta Victor (Joylene) Mierta, Mark (Susan) Mierta, Donna (Jack) Snedeker, grandmother to Gina, Kurt, Katy, Mark, Patrick, Chris, Sean, Justin, Alyssa, Ryan, Trevor, Jana, Shane, Jaclyn and great-grandmother to Sarah, Kurt, Lily, Jeremiah and Reef.
She loved the Rolling Stones, and listened to Mick sing "You can't always get what you want, but if you try sometimes, well you just might find, you get what you need." Connie took in everyone's love and reflected it back intensified with her own supply of sunshine. Best of all she gave us what we need: love, strength, and most of all each other.
Connie displayed a great love for disadvantaged pets and stray animals. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Popcorn Park Zoo, PO Box 43, Forked River, NJ 08731. A Memorial Mass to celebrate Connie's life will be held on Wednesday May 7, 2014 at 11:00 am at St. Mary's RC Church, 747 West Bay Avenue, Barnegat, NJ 08005, followed by interment at Ocean County Memorial Park, Waretown. Riggs Funeral Home, Forked River is in care of arrangements.

Aunt Connie was a true inspiration, she was a woman of beauty, grace, and dignity. I was truly blessed to have had her in my life, and to have learned so much from her. We are sending our love thoughts and prayers to her family. She will be forever missed, but will always live on in our hearts.
