David O'Scanlon Obituary

David Aaron O'Scanlon

AGE: 50 • Tinton Falls

David Aaron O'Scanlon, 50, of Tinton Falls passed away on Wednesday, January 18, 2017. He was born in Long Branch, raised in Little Silver and had lived in Neptune and West Long Branch before settling in Tinton Falls. A graduate of Red Bank Regional High School Class of 1984, he was involved in the high school theater. David possessed a wonderful sense of humor, and enjoyed cooking and entertaining. An animal lover, David reveled in riding his motorcycle and treasured trips to Ireland with friends and family. He dearly loved his father whom he referred to as, "The best dad a guy could have." He loved his children beyond measure and they will miss him every moment of every day. David was a big man in every respect - big heart, big hugs, big love for his family. He adored his kids more than he could contain - truly beamed with pride whenever he spoke of them - and had big dreams for them that he now will help come true from Heaven.

He was predeceased by his beloved mother, Alice Ann Mott O'Scanlon; and his nanny, Emma Schilling. David is survived by his son, Kyle Ryan O'Scanlon and twins, Connor Aiden O'Scanlon and Kayla Marie O'Scanlon, all of West Long Branch; father, Dr. Declan O'Scanlon, Sr. and his wife, Carol of Colts Neck; brothers, Declan O'Scanlon, Jr. and his wife, Heather of Little Silver, Sean O'Scanlon of Colts Neck; sister, Jennifer O'Scanlon and her husband, Brian Vint of Oceanport; former wife, Tammy O'Scanlon of West Long Branch; uncle, Thomas Mott and his fiancee, Reva Boll of Florida, aunt, Carolyn Alt and her husband, Doug of Wanamassa; niece, Elly; nephew, Colin; and his faithful canine companions, Max and Finneas.

Visitation will be held at the Clayton & McGirr Funeral Home, 100 Elton-Adelphia Road (Route 524), Freehold Township on Monday, January 23, 2017 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend his 12:30 PM Funeral Mass on Tuesday, January 24, 2017 AM at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 254 Wall Street, West Long Branch. Dave had a personality larger than life, with a smile and heart to match.
I have many fond memories of Dave, including his childhood days. He will surely be missed by me, and the many, many friends that he loved so much.
May God bless him, and may he rest in peace.

Declan, you have been a wonderful brother, and I hope, in time, that you and your family find comforting peace. God bless all of you.

I was very sad to hear of Dave's passing I haven't seen or talked to him in a while but always thought of him. He was a joy to work with and was always up beat. I remember Dave coming to my house to visit me when I was out of work after surgery. My deepest condolences to his family

I was saddened to hear of David's death. Although it's been many years since I've seen him, I wanted to let you know that I have fond memories of him from high school. He was always a class clown; very funny; very upbeat. He had a smile that would light up a room. He didn't fall into the "cliques" so common in school - he was friendly to everyone. The last time I saw him was at one of our reunions, where he sat at my table, and was just as funny as ever. I am so sorry to hear that he's passed on. You all have my deepest condolences.
