When I was hired by Chubb in 1965, Don was the HR Manager and made me feel at ease and comfortable throughout my training period and beyond. We remained friends throughout our careers and afterward. I´ve often said he was one of the people that made me believe the company would be a great place to work and I am grateful for that - and his friendship.

Dear Chris,
I’m so sorry to here about Don’s passing. My deepest condolences to you, your sons and their families.
I first met Don in 1965 when I started to work at Chubb. Even though I was just a trainee, Don always made me feel welcome within the company and I’m sure that first impression was one of the reasons I remained at Chubb throughout my career. I also remember the times we commuted to New York City together.
Don always had a positive outlook on life and seemed almost ageless to me. He once said that he considered a person old only when they were at least 10 years older than he was.
I’m sure your grief is overwhelming but, when you look at your children and grandchildren, I hope you’ll see that a part of Don lives on in each and every one of them and appreciate what a wonderful gift and legacy that is for both of you.
My deepest sympathy and all my best to you.

Don and Linda Lawson
February 20, 2021
Don was a close and valued friend. He was my boss and mentor at Chubb for several years. This began a long friendship between Don and Chris and my wife Linda and me (Don Lawson). Don was very athletic and he and Chris enjoyed golf and tennis. We will also always remember them dancing at the Chubb Managers Meetings. We looked forward to receiving his originally designed Christmas cards. He was a person of high character and integrity and will be truly missed.
