AGE: 99 • Belmar
Doris L. Taylor, 99 passed away on Thurs. July 20, 2017 at Sunrise of Wall with her loving family by her side.
She was a lifelong resident of Belmar and had lived there for 92 years before moving to Sunrise Assisted Living in Wall. Doris was the secretary to her husband's business Taylor Hardware, Belmar. She volunteered for the Deborah Heart and Lung Center for over 25 years. She was a member of the Women's Guild of the First Methodist Church of Belmar and one of the founding members of the "Stitch and Chatter" club. The family wishes to extend a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Sunrise Assisted Living and Compassionate Care Hospice for the wonderful care their mother and grandmother received.
Doris was predeceased by her husband of 64 years John Andrew Taylor former Belmar Mayor who passed in 2001, her parents Thomas and Anna Sherman and her brother George Sherman and her son-in-law Edward Patnaude. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Patnaude of Brielle, two grandchildren Marjorie Patnaude and Cheryl and her husband Tim Shaak all of Brielle. Doris is also survived by two great grandchildren Robert (Jennifer) Mangold and Alexis Shaak and one great great grandchild Carter Mangold and several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation at Orender Family Home for Funerals 2643 Old Bridge Road Manasquan on Friday July 28 from 10:30 am until 11:30 am at which time the funeral service will begin. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Belmar Historical Society PO Box A Belmar, NJ 07719 or Compassionate Care Hospice 1130 Hooper Avenue Toms River, NJ 08753 or Deborah Heart and Lung Center PO Box 820 Browns Mills NJ 08015.
