Dorothy McNee age 96, of Leonardo died Saturday, September 15, 2012 at Brighton Gardens, Middletown. Dorothy was born in Newark and lived most of her life in Leonardo. She graduated from Leonardo High School and was the head beautician at Bamberger's, Newark until 1945.

Dorothy was a communicant of St. Agnes where she belonged to the Rosary Altar Society and was a founding member of the St. Jude Cafeteria Guild.

She is predeceased by her husband of 56 years Joseph and her brothers Edmund Anthony and Philip.

Dorothy was an avid gardener and always happy to provide gardening tips and plants to family and friends. She was an accomplished athlete into her 40's playing many sports. Although she enjoyed many different sports and activities there was never anything more important to her than her family.

She is survived by her daughter Kathleen McNee of Mt. Kisco, NY; her son and his wife Joseph and Laurie McNee of Falmouth, MA; her son and his wife John and Cathleen McNee of Shrewsbury, NJ; her son Leo and his wife Bernadette McNee of Cape Coral Fl; and her daughter Dorothy and her husband Erik Miner of Lawrenceville NJ as well as her grandchildren Kevin, Danny, Caitlin, Scott, Casey, Bryan. Three great grandchildren Cassidy, Kayla and Alexander are also surviving along with her sister-in-law Veronica Seibert of Toms River and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive their friends 4-7 pm Thursday at John P. Condon Funeral Home LLC, 804 St. Hwy. #36, Leonardo, NJ.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 AM Friday at St. Agnes Church, 103 Center Ave, Atlantic Highlands. Interment will be in Mt Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
