Perth Amboy - Edward Anton Bishop, 83, of Perth Amboy, NJ, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Tuesday, February 9, 2021.

Edward was born July 17, 1937 in Sewaren, NJ, and was raised in Perth Amboy. In 1955 he graduated Saint Mary's High School, Perth Amboy and served in the U. S Marine Corp from 1955-1960 Rank Sergeant.

Edward was the owner of the Watch Stop jewelry store in Perth Amboy. He worked at Ecolabs Avenel, NJ 1975-2001, and was the co-owner of Bets Sports Bar in Perth Amboy.

Lifelong member of the Ukrainian Catholic Church in Perth Amboy. Past Exalted Ruler Woodbridge Elks Lodge #2116.

Member of Knights of Columbus. Member of Marine Corp League. Past President and coach for 30 years of Perth Amboy Youth Baseball League. Co-founder of Perth Amboy Red Raiders Youth Football.

He is preceded in death by his mother Anna Bobick and his father Edward Bishop.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years Madeline Carol Bishop. His children Deborah Marco and her husband Jeff of Lebanon PA; Brian Bishop of Tarpon Springs, FL; Donna Franqui and her husband Robert of Old Bridge, NJ; Denise May and her husband Robert of Middlesex, NJ; Dawn Bishop, of Toms River, NJ; Brad Bishop and his wife Erin of Hamilton, NJ. His grandchildren Bernadette Marco and her fiancee Bryan Rock, Joseph Bishop, Brittany Bishop, Chaz Franqui, Cody Bishop, Jarrett May, Carolyn Wistreich, Zachary Wistreich, Addisyn Bishop, Jackson Bishop, Delia May, Jeffrey May, and a great grandchild Gabriella Gemmell.

We begin to leave on Saturday, February 13 at 9:45am from Gustav J. Novak Funeral Home 419 Barclay Street 10: 30am for a Divine Liturgy at Ukrainian Catholic Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary

Burial will be at the Church Cemetery

Visiting is on Friday from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm
