Edward Mahon Obituary
EDWARD MARTIN MAHON SR
AGE: 84 NEW BRUNSWICK
Died April 30 in Martinsburg, W. VA after a long illness. Ed was born and raised in New Bruns, NJ. He was a WWII Vet and was in the Navy for 4 years. Ed worked for the Veterans Admins in the early 60's counseling vets and their families before going into business for himself. He owned and operated two full service gas stations in New Bruns. After selling the businesses he later went on to work for Buist Inc. Ed later retired and he and his wife moved to MD until he was admitted to the West Virgina VA Hospital in Martinsburg West Virgina where he resided and was loved and cared for until his death. Ed passed peacefully in his sleep. He was 84.
Ed is preceded by 3 sisters 2 brothers and a grandson (Peter). He is survived by his brother James Mahon of New Egypt, his loving wife of 63 years Georgia Gust Mahon of New Bruns, his children Edward Martin Mahon Jr. of Fl, Teresa Bruckert of South Bruns, Thomas Mahon of Hopewell and Susan Mahan of New Bruns, five grandchildren several nieces, nephews, in-laws and other family members.
A memorial service is being held for all family and friends Saturday May 30, at St. Mary's Mount. Virgin Church on Remsen Avenue. New Brunswick services will be held at 9 a.m. a celebration of life brunch will immediately follow at the American Legion Hall in Milltown.
