Edward Ogden Obituary

Edward Ogden

Toms River, NJ - Edward Ogden, age 78, of the Lake Ridge Adult Community of Toms River, NJ passed away on Monday, August 2, 2021 at the Ocean Medical Center in Brick, NJ. Edward, known to his friends and family as "Ed" or "Eddie," was born July 16, 1943 in Brooklyn, NY. Ed was an 18 year resident of Staten Island, NY, where he and his wife, Louise, raised their daughter, Heather. Ed had a long career with NCR ("National Cash Register"), where he began repairing cash registers, computers and ATMs; and worked his way up to Regional Manager, before retiring after 35 years of service.

Ed and Louise moved to Toms River in 1995, after their daughter graduated from Syracuse University and moved to Los Angeles, where she is an attorney. Upon relocating to Toms River, Ed worked in clerical administration for the State Court of New Jersey in Toms River, NJ for 18 years.

Ed is survived by his beloved wife Louise A. Ogden (née DeVito), his only daughter, Heather A. Ogden, his son-in-law, Edmund Gutierrez, his grand-dog, Sticks; and his brother & sister-in-law, Carl & Robyn Devito.

Ed was predeceased by his mother, Antonina Ogden; his mother & father-in-law, Millie and Carl DeVito, Sr.; his brother-in-law, Dominick DeVito; and his beloved family dog, Benji.

Ed will be remembered by those who love him as a wonderful husband, father and friend. Anyone who had the pleasure of spending time with Ed, always had a great time, thanks to his sense of humor and infectious laughter. He will be missed, but never forgotten.

In accordance with Ed's wishes, private cremation services are being completed by D'Elia Funeral Home.
