AGE: 73 • Hillsborough
Edward J. Zelis, 73, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on April 25, 2017. He was born on September 2, 1943 in Somerville, NJ, to his late parents Helen Rabosky and Edward S. Zelis. Ed was in the US Army and the Army National Guard. He spent most of his career working for Mack Trucks in multiple locations in New Jersey. He ended his career at Jim Flynn's Truck Repair in Glen Gardner. Ed's passion was rebuilding muscle cars. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Ed will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Ed is survived by his beloved wife, Mary Ann Sargent Zelis, a dear son, Edward Jr. (Natasha), two loving daughters, Cheryl McKittrick and Sandra Zelis, nine cherished grandchildren, Rylee, Bailee, Alyssa, Ashley, Noel, Natalie, Zachary, Jeremiah and Samuel, and his godson, Michael Carovillano. Also survived by his Jack Russell Terrier, Danny.
Viewing, Friday, April 28, 2017, 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 7:00 to 9:00 PM and Saturday April 29, 2017, 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at Bongiovi Funeral Home, 416 Bell Avenue, Raritan, NJ 08869, (908) 725-1887. Funeral Mass, Saturday April 29, 2017, 10:30 AM at St. Ann's Church, 45 Anderson St., Raritan, NJ. Burial to be announced at a later date at St. Bernard's Cemetery, Bridgewater.

Very sorry for your loss. I only met Eddie a few times when I was in the Navy. I bought a 70 Bee off Eddie and he was really fair with me and even turned down a better offer for the car because he wanted me to have it! Very special memory to me, it meant a lot! Still have the car too. Great guy! he will be missed.
