Ernest J. Badaracco

AGE: 81 • Brielle

Ernest J. Badaracco Jr., who recently celebrated his 81th birthday, passed away on Friday, June 29, 2012, at home with his family at his side. He was in partners with his father at Badaracco Brothers Electrical Contracting in Hoboken, past president of Elysian Federal Savings Bank and was the current president of EJB Electrical Consultant, Inc. He served on the Joint Apprentice Board of the I.B.E.W. Local 164 for several years. He was elected Italian Man of The Year by the Italian Club of Jersey City, past president of the Hudson County Savings League, a member of N.E.C.A., Disabled American Veterans, American Legion-Hoboken Chapter and New York Athletic Club, He served in the Korean War from 1952-1953. He attended St. Peter & Paul's Elementary school, Seton Hall Preparatory and Newark College of Engineering. He had his pilot licenses and enjoyed flying often.

He was predeceased by his parents, Ernest Sr. and Rose (nee Caruso); his wife, Barbara Ann (nee Beronio); and his son, John Benedict. He is survived by his wife, Rita A. (nee McKeever), along with his daughter and four sons, Ernest III & Jane of Colts Neck, daughter, Jeanmarie of Wood-Ridge, Victor & Maureen of Bayonne, Joseph & Michelle of Colorado, and David & Cheryl of Howell. He has 11 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. He has a sister, Dr. Marie R. Badaracco-Apolito of Montclair, and a brother-in-law and wife, James & Eileen McKeever of Englewood. He has many loving nieces and nephews as well.

The family will welcome friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday, July 1, 2012 at the Failla Memorial Home, 533 Willow Ave., Hoboken. Valet Parking available in rear of Memorial Home off Sixth Street. The Funeral Mass will be offered at 10:30 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2012 at Sts. Peter & Paul R.C. Church in Hoboken. Interment will follow at Holy Name Cemetery in Jersey City. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be sent to Seton Hall Preparatory Alumni Association, 120 Northfield Ave., South Orange, NJ.
