AGE: 83 BRICK
Frank W. Amato, 83, of Brick, died Sunday, March 8, 2009, at his daughter's home in Eatontown. Born in Brooklyn, N.Y., he lived there prior to moving to Brick 20 years ago. He was a self-employed ice-cream salesman in the Boro Park section of Brooklyn, N.Y. for 36 years, retiring in 1985. He was a communicant of Epiphany Roman Catholic Church, Brick.
He was predeceased by his wife, Jennie Chirrillo Amato, in 2001; and his son, Joseph S. Amato, in 1995. Frank is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Frank and Angela Amato of Garden City Park, N.Y.; a daughter, Christine M. DeNigris and Joe Apisa; four grandchildren, Frank and Michele Amato, and Danielle and Stephanie DeNigris; a beloved sister, Jean Amato of Brick; and a beloved niece, Victoria Hunter of Daytona, Fla.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday, March 11 and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 12 at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Highway 88, Brick. A funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, March 13 at Epiphany R.C. Church, Brick. Entombment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Brooklyn, N.Y. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Barnabas Hospice & Palliative Care Center, 95 Old Short Hills Road, 1st.
