AGE: 76 • Toms River

George P. Dittrich, 76, of Toms River, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, June 7, 2015, at home. Born Dec. 20, 1938 in Bloomfield to the late George & Anna (nee: Arasinovicz), he lived in Belleville & Montclair before moving to Toms River in 1995. A proud U.S. Navy veteran, he was assigned to the USS Parle was stationed in Cuba for a time between 1957 & 1959. George was a retired Bloomfield Police Officer, having served 30 years before retiring in 1991. Always wanting to remain active, George worked part time as a Supervisor for the Ocean County Juvenile Services Division, where he remained until his health caused him to retire 2 years ago. He was an active member of the Bloomfield PBA - Local # 32 (since 1962), N.J. Honor Legion, N.Y. Honor Legion, Retired & Disabled Police of America & the Retired Policemen & Firemen's Association. He is predeceased by his parents & brother-in-law, Joseph Konrad Sr. Surviving to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Emily (nee: Olah); his children; Alicia Foulke (George), Carrie Bieksha (John), Michele Dittrich, Tom Vonoczky (Karen), Bridget Vonoczky & Penny Vonoczky; his grandchildren, Gregory Vonoczky (Jessica), Jaclyn Gleason (James), Megan Vonoczky, Alyssa Bieksha & Ashley Bieksha; his sisters, Florence Konrad & Stephanie Mahoney (Joe). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. & 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday, June 10 at the Levandoski-Grillo Funeral Home & Cremation Service, 44 Bay Ave., Bloomfield. Additional parking available on Broughton Avenue. Relatives and friends are invited to gather at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 11 at St. Valentine Church, 125 N. Spring St., Bloomfield for the Funeral Mass. Cremation will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834.
