Dr. Kaftan was my favorite professor at C.W. Post College. He was one in a million. I found a newspaper article on him some years back. The reporter was kind enough to give me Dr. Kaftan's email address. We had a lovely chat, during which I told him how much his teaching meant to me. What a great man.

I am so sorry to hear of Uncle George's passing. I will never forget my fond memories of him sitting in his chair smoking his pipe. I was so blessed to have him be a part of my life. Much sympathy to Aunt Helen, Esta, Evelyn, GiGi and family. He will be forever in our hearts and greatly missed. I love you all.

I never met Dr. Kaftan, but I'm an HC grad and he is forever etched in my memory as the key player on the 1947 NCAA championship team. (Being also a Regis graduate, I won't hold his Xavier connection against him!) RIP to a most distinguished Crusader.
Requiescat in pace. Jim Higgins. HC '67.
