GEORGE F. KILLMER
AGE: 82 WHITING
George F. Killmer, 82, of Whiting, NJ, died Wednesday, Aug. 26, 2009, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Mr. Killmer was born in Camden and lived in Barrington and then in Lawrenceville for 24 years, moving to the Crestwood Village VI in Whiting. George was a lab technician with the Mobil Oil Corporation in Pennington for over 30 years, before retiring in 1989. He served in the Merchant Marine during World War II. He was a member of the Dennis A. Roland Chapter of the Merchant Marine War Vets, and a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Whiting and the Crestwood Village VI Safety Patrol.
Surviving is his wife Kathryn "Jean" Killmer, married 62 years; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Ted Killmer of Garrison, NY, and James Bruce and Estela Killmer of South Amboy; a daughter and son-in-law, Patricia J. and Jeffrey Rechtsteiner of New Egypt; a brother, William E. Killmer of Tavares, FL; and sister, Emma C. Spencer of El Dorado, KS; also four grandchildren, Nicole, Amanda, Rachel, and Daniel; and a dear friend, Sandra Schrock.
There will be a private cremation and a private burial of ashes at the Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Arneytown, NJ. Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 115 Lacey Road, Whiting, NJ. is in charge of arrangements. Contributions may be made in his name to the Deborah Hospital, Browns Mills, NJ. or Christ Lutheran Church, Whiting, NJ.
