George H. Konowalow

AGE: 94 • Morganville

George H. Konowalow, 94, of Morganville, passed away Tuesday July 5, 2011 at Madison Center, Old Bridge. Before his retirement he was a TV repair man. He was born in Milltown, NJ and had remained a resident of Morganville for 68 years. He served in the United States Army during WWII and was a member of the VFW. George was a member of both the St. Clement and St. Gabriel Senior groups. He was also an avid bowler who is credited with several 300 games. George loved to take trips down to Atlantic City to do a little gambling every time he got the chance.

He leaves behind his wife of 68 years Alta Konowalow, 2 daughters and a son-in-law Pat Thomas, and Kathi and Mike Podolla, 5 grandchildren Ryan, Shawn and Patrick Thomas, and Michael and Matthew Podolla, and a great granddaughter Kylee Thomas.

Visitation will be held on Friday July 8, 2011 from 2-4pm and 7-9pm at the Waitt-Nelms Funeral Home, 501 Highway 79, Morganville. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday July 9, 2011 from 10am - 11am at the funeral home and a funeral service taking place at 11am followed by entombment in Marlboro Memorial Cemetery, Marlboro.
