Gilbert Dingee Obituary

Gilbert F. Dingee, Jr.

AGE: 74 • Port Monmouth

Gilbert F. Dingee, Jr., 74, of Port Monmouth, NJ, passed away on November 28, 2015 in Edgewater, FL. He was born in Cranbury, NJ to the late Gilbert F. and Dorothy Dingee. Gil worked many years as a plumber for Paul J. Gross, Inc., Jersey Shore Plumbing and Heating, and Central Jersey Plumbing and Heating. He was an avid boater and fisher. Gil was best known as a jokester and a prankster, if he picked on you it meant he liked you and if you were lucky enough to call him a friend he was a true friend. He was always doing things for others and never asked anything in return. If you mentioned in his presence that you needed something he could always find it at his beloved garage sales. Gil was a member of the Middletown Elks Lodge 2179.

Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Nancy (nee Rockafellow); his son, Kevin Dingee; his daughter and her wife, Kendra and Jaqueline Hogan; and his two grandchildren, Kevin M. and Tristian Dingee.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 3, 2015 from 2-4 & 7-9 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for Friday, December 4, 2015 at 11 am at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Bay View Cemetery, Leonardo. We will remember with laughter the many years we had with Gil. We are thankful to have enjoyed those great healthy, fun years boating and docked next to Gil and Nancy in AH harbor. Sadly, we only had one season here in FL living in the same community before the stroke left Gil impaired. We have never seen a more devoted wife then Nancy in these past 4 years caring for Gil. We will miss our dear friend but know that he is now at peace with no more struggles. Our love and sympathy to Nancy, Kendra, Kevin and family.
