HENRY F. TRUTNEFF
AGE: 88 SEA GIRT
Henry F. Trutneff, 88, of Sea Girt passed away Friday, May 21, 2010 at Jersey Shore Medical Center, Neptune. Born and raised in Queens, NY, Frank graduated from SUNY Maritime College, Fort Schuyler, and went on to join the US Navy. He served in the Korean War and was discharged with the rank of Lt. (jg). Frank went on to earn an MS from Fordham and a PhD from Walden University, while pursuing a varied career as an educator, merchant marine officer, and union executive. Prior to retirement Frank was employed as the Director of Human Resources for the International Organization of Masters, Mates & Pilots, Lithicum Heights, Md. Frank lived in Hasting on Hudson, NY and Severna Park, MD, prior to moving to Sea Girt, NJ permanently in 1990. As a Sea Girt resident, Frank and his wife Patricia were active members of St. Mark's Catholic Church. Frank served on the parish's Social Concerns Committee, and volunteered with the local Meals on Wheels.
Surviving is his wife of 58 years, Patricia Ryan Trutneff; his son and wife, Jon and Joan Trutneff of Cranford; his daughter, Patrice Trutneff of Annapolis, Md. and a grandson, Daniel Peragine.
Relatives and friends are invited to call on Monday, May 24 from 2-4 & 7-9pm at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Tuesday, May 25, 2010 at 9:30am at St. Mark's Church, Sea Girt. Committal will take place in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorne, NY at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Mark's Social Concerns Committee, 215 Crescent Pkwy, Sea Girt, NJ 08750.
