Holly Peterson Obituary

Holly Karen Peterson

Manasquan - Holly Karen Peterson, age 74, born in Newark, NJ, passed away peacefully on May 5, 2021; at her Manasquan home of 40 years surrounded by her family. Holly truly made the world a better place simply by being in it. Her presence would lighten up a room. It was her glow, her smile, her gentle touch. She made friends easily and people didn't forget her.

As a true child of the 60's, she always rooted for the underdog. She was an accomplished pianist and guitarist. Holly was an integral part of the Manasquan community, participating in the Women's Bowling League, advocating for various environmental causes, and working for several major law firms along the Jersey Shore.

We will all miss Holly. She was a peaceful, loving and easy going soul, unless the Mets were losing! She loved dogs, her Doozy, her beach, her home and especially loved her children, grandchildren, dear friends and her best friend and love of her life, James Moy.

She joins her parents, Allen and Louise Puccini of Millington, NJ. Holly is survived by her soul mate, James Moy and his children Michael Moy and Brian Moy and his wife Andrea, her three children; Colleen Miri and her husband Frank, Tara Reeder and her husband Mark, Brendan Sheehan and his wife Mary, 10 grandchildren, and her cousins Linda Smith and William Wallace.

You have brought so much happiness into our lives. We love you and forever miss you.

Visitation will be held at O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall on Thursday, May 13th from 2-5pm. Funeral service will be held at O'Brien Funeral Home on Friday, May 14th at 10 AM followed by burial in Greenwood Cemetery, Brielle. I was very blessed to be able to spend Holly's last few days by her side, with Jimmy and Colleen. Beautiful even then. But I will remember our time together on the beach and will miss her dearly. God's speed Holly. Now you don't need to find shelter from the cold. Now you can travel to any beach you wish - all year long. No one can replace your special spot on the rocks or in my heart. Heartfelt condolences to everyone who loves Holly.

Holly was a delightful fixture in our neighborhood, whom I have known for the 30+ years I've lived on Pine Ave. I'll miss our impromptu chats on walks or visits to the Glimmer Glass beach, one of her favorite tanning haunts! We commiserated after Sandy, appreciated each other's enthusiasm for our rivaling baseball teams - her beloved Mets & my Phillies, and shared our experiences as members of the sisterhood of breast cancer survivors. Her positive attitude and smile were indicative of her joyous spirit; may she rest in peace.
