Howard Schultz Obituary
Dr. Howard Hugh Schultz, on March 11, 2013. Beloved husband of Leslie (nee Pugh). Devoted son of Janice Schultz and the late Morton Schultz. Caring brother of Steven (Sharon) Schultz. Loving uncle of William Schultz and Haley Schultz. Dear son-in-law of Marilyn A. Pugh and the late Cecil W. Pugh.
A graduate of Duke University and the Farleigh Dickinson Dental School, Dr. Schultz served 3 years as a Captain in the U.S. Army prior to practicing dentistry privately for 33 years in the New Brunswick area.
Relatives and friends are invited to Funeral Services Friday 2:30 PM precisely at Goldsteins' Rosenberg's Raphael-Sacks, 6410 N. Broad St., Philadelphia. Contributions in his memory may be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, www.woundedwarriorproject.org. www.goldsteinsfuneral.com

Leslie & Family - My deepest, heartfelt condolences I send to you and your family. I have been a patient of "Doc" Shultz since the 80's (the days when you were in the office) and always enjoyed that 6 month check up - it was like catching up with your friend. He was a true gentlemen and professional in all he did. Having 3 boys involved with baseball, we always had great chats. We were fortunate to have "Doc" umpire a game, and I can remember one of the boys going up to him after the game and saying "you are the best umpire I've ever had." He was truly enthusiastic and passionate in all he did. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time.

I am so sorry to hear this news today. Leslie, my deepest condolences to you. As I read all these entries, I see that he didn't just deal with my own fears of dentistry, but it seems like he did that for everyone. He was a wonderful dentist and human being. I am so sorry for your loss, and you are in my thoughts and prayers.

To Leslie an the Schultz family just heard the news and I send my deepest sympathy to you all I've been a patient for many decades since his grandfather retired he was the greatest dentist plus person that any one would like to know he helped me thru fears of the needle in life u meet a handful of genuine people an he was one it broke our hearts to lose him but he did not go alone for part of us went with him when god called him home an he lives in our memories an our heart he was loved sincerely an deepest sympathy Mary M. My deepest sympathy to Dr. Schultz's wife and family. He was the best dentist anyone could ever have had. The visits, our talks and laughs always made me comfortable. I don't know who I will ever go to now. He always knew I was such a baby and refused to ever go to another dentist. He will be so missed. May you rest in peace

To the Schultz family I am so sorry to hear of the passing of Howard.I used to umpire with him at DVUA.He would always answer any questions about baseball that I had.I know he will be missed.

I truly do miss Howard and regret that i was not able to attend his funeral. He was my dentist for at least 20 years and also a friend. He would schedule extra time at my appointments so he could tell me how much better the Yankees were than the Mets while he had sharp instruments in my mouth.
I have been and will continue to pray for all of Howard's family during this difficult time.

Leslie, we were shocked and saddened to hear of Howard's passing. We have many fond memories of Howard. He was one of Dave's first friends when he moved here. How many people can say they had their dentist at their wedding with only 20 guests! He was a very special person and a truly talented dentist. He got me over my fear of dentists! May he rest in peace, and may you and the entire family find the strength you need to get through this very difficult time.

Howard will be missed. I enjoyed knowing and working with him for many years at all levels and ages of Baseball and Softball. He was a great person and ALWAYS had the interest of the players as number 1. He always gave 110% in everything that he did. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Howard will surly be missed and many phone call talking rules about Little League which Howard Loved to do. I know Howard is umpiring in Heaven and one day we will be seeing him again. My Heart goes out to all of Howard's Family and wish all the Family God's Peace now and forever.

Schultzy! It was a pleasure to work with you last summer, even if you misapplied the infield fly! Thank you also for your charitable support when you came out to see me play last fall and support Ride 4 Erik. You have a special place in my heart, and I'm sorry I couldn't make it to see you off on Friday. You will always be an inspiration to me as an umpire and as a musician.

I am so honored to have shared some great baseball stories with you and more honored to call you my friend. I'll never forget the time Stan Bahnsen (NY Yankees Rookie of the year 1968), you and I watch the Kentucky Derby together at a resturant. You were all smiles hearing Stan's stories of his playing days and his experiences with many players. I can promise you this my friend, not a day will go by that I don't pray for you . For death is no more than turning of us over from time to eternity. No more suffering my friend,. Until with meet again in his Kingdom.
