Howard Townsend Obituary
AGE: 82 • Melbourne, FL
Howard Francis Townsend, 82, passed away on April 4, 2013. He was born January 19, 1931 in Long Branch, New Jersey. He was pre-deceased by his parents, Charles and Lenore and siblings, Marion Halliday, Charles Townsend, Helen Kublin, Roy Townsend and Frances Martinson.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Gloria and their two children, Howard and his wife Lucy and Susan and her husband Stanley Dziuba; and their grandchildren, Megan and Laura Townsend and Ashley Dziuba; their step-grandchildren, Ensign Stephanie Wexler and William Wexler; his niece Lenore and her husband Bucky Grimm; his 3 nephews, and their wives, Roy and Stephanie Townsend, Vincent and Mary Kublin and Stephen and Claire Halliday.
Howard spent four years in the USN deployed on the U.S.S. Midway in the 1950's. He spent his working years with industrial sewing machines and was owner and President of Needle Trade Industrial Sewing Machines. After moving to Melbourne in 1991 and joining Suntree Country Club, any friend of Howard's probably sported beautiful seat covers on their golf carts by his handy work, and a few less scheckles in their pocket after a golf match. For many years Howard was a member of Old Orchard Country Club, Eatontown.
Memorial service will be Monday, April 8, at 10:30 am at Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home Chapel, 5400 Villiage Drive, Viera, Florida. There will be a memorial service in Long Branch at a date and time to be announced. Contributions in memory of Howard may be made to a charity of your choice or the Haven for Children, Inc., P.O.
