James M. Allocco

AGE: 82 • Holmdel

James Allocco, 82, passed away with his loving family by his side on March 14th at Riverview Medical Center, Red Bank.

Known to everyone as Jimmy or Uncle Jimmy, he was a highly admired and widely esteemed native resident of the Township of Holmdel.

Jimmy was a 1952 graduate of Keyport High School. He joined the Holmdel Public Works Department in 1955 and took great pride in the excellent condition of Holmdel roads and the Township's equipment until his retirement as Superintendent on June 30, 1995.

Jimmy was a lifelong farmer and owner of Allocco's Farm Market, Holmdel. He loved winemaking and canning tomatoes and had a smile for everyone he met. He was a member of the Holmdel Kiwanis Club and was the recipient of the George F. Hixon Award. A member of the Farmers and Gardeners Labor Association, The New Jersey Farm Bureau and The Holmdel Half Century Club

He was predeceased by his parents, Mollie and Jerry Allocco, his brothers, Dominick and Charles Allocco.

Surviving is his beloved wife of 54 years, Rose Valente Allocco; their loving children, Maria Allocco, Holmdel and Jerry and his wife Regina Allocco, Holmdel; two grandsons, James and Alex Allocco; brother Joseph Allocco and his wife Josephine, Holmdel; sisters, Martha Cevasco and her husband Louis, Aberdeen and Connie Mioduszewski, Hazlet; many cousins, nieces, nephews and other loving relatives and many dear friends.

Visitation Sunday, March 19th, 2-4 and 7-9 pm at the Holmdel Funeral Home, 26 South Holmdel Road, Holmdel. Mass of Christian Burial Monday, March 20th, 10:30 am, St. Benedict's RC Church, 165 Bethany Road, Holmdel. Entombment will follow at Holmdel Mausoleum. Contributions in memory of Jimmy may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.inmemoryof-memorial.org.
