Janet J. Bittmann Bayer, 78 of Albrightsville, Pa. and formerly of Jackson Twp. passed away peacefully on Friday, February 19, 2016 at Medical Center of Ocean County, Brick with her devoted daughters at her bedside.

Janet was born in Union City, NJ and had resided in Jackson Twp. for over 30 years before moving to Albrightsville, Pa. in 1995.

She attended fashion school, in New York. She had been employed as a Seamstress and Bridal Dress Designer at Renee's Bridal Chateau, Lakewood for many years. She was a member of the Young at Hearts Club, and the Lakewood Elks # 1432, Ladies Auxiliary and was a volunteer for their Handicapped Children's Fund.

She was an avid gardner who especially loved Roses and flowers.

She was predeceased by her husband Berthold "Bert" Bayer in October 2012 and her parents Herman and Frances Bittmann. Surviving are her loving children, Janine Licata of Brick, Audra Castronuovo of Toms River, Linda Goggins of Chateaugay, NY, Barbara Bayer Ryan of Howell, and Brenda Bayer of Deland, Fla., her brother Robert Bittmann of Brick, and her sister Cheryl Handerhan of LaBelle, Fl., 13 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the O'Brien Funeral Home, 2028 Hwy. 35 at New Bedford Rd., Wall, NJ 07719 on Thursday, February 25, 2016 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and from 7:00pm to 7:30pm at which time there will be a Funeral Service. Following the funeral service the family will continue to receive friends until 9:00pm. Private cremation will follow.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the Lakewood Elks # 1432, Handicapped Children's Fund, 711 West Kennedy Blvd., Lakewood, NJ 08701. Envelopes will be provided at the funeral home of Thursday.
