Jean Klevit Obituary
AGE: 95 • Monterey Beach
Jean Robertson Kievit, 95, of Monterey Beach, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 16, 2013, at home. Grandma Jean was born in Glasgow, Scotland, and lived in Clifton, NJ. She bought a summer home in Monterey Beach in 1966, and moved there permanently in 1986. She was a cashier for the Clifton, NJ, Board of Education for ten years, retiring in 1974. Jean is a member of the Totowa Presbyterian Church; a life member of Daughters of Scotia Mary Wallace Lodge; and a member of Caledonian Club.
Jean was predeceased by her husband Elmer "Putsy" Kievit in 1999. She is survived by her son, Robert Kievit and his wife Judy of Monterey Beach; her daughter, Marlene Romanowski and her husband Kevin of Long Beach Island; five grandchildren, Robyn and her husband Pete, Bryan and his wife Erika, Matthew and his wife Daniela, Scott and his wife Mary Katherine, and Rob; and her eight great-grandchildren, Jared, Eve, Robbie, Ashley, Camilla, Giada, Matthew and Ryder.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 21 until the service at 12 noon at the Anderson & Campbell Funeral Home, 703 Main St., Toms River. Entombment will follow at Ocean County Memorial Park in Toms River. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Meridian Hospice, 1340 Campus Parkway, Wall, NJ 07753, or Caregivers of Central Jersey, 253 Chestnut St., Toms River, NJ 08753.
