Jean Palughi

Wall Township - Jean R. Palughi, nee Damico, 87, of Wall Township, danced her way to glory on December 19, 2017. Born in Jersey City, she moved her family down to the Jersey Shore in 1962. After a summer visit, she wanted her children to grow up in open fresh air surroundings and especially near the ocean. She could be found on the beach or walking the boards during a stormy day enjoying the ocean.

During her teen years, she became a New York City Rockette, what a dream come true! She loved to dance and enter beauty contests. She won a Miss Beautiful Legs contest in Jersey City, and went on to win many dance contests in and around the shore. She was one to always have her "face on" and be dressed to the nines. A real glamour girl. She worked for many years at Fitkin Hospital, now Jersey Shore Medical Center.

She was predeceased by her mother, Evelyn and her son, Frank.

She leaves behind her greatest loves, her children, Janet, Michael and his girlfriend Alex, David and his wife Giovanna; granddaughters, Martha and Courtney and her first great grandchild Nova.

She found comfort and love with her caregiver and friend, Alex, who took care of her with love and affection.
