AGE: 81 • Hazlet
Joan Esposito, 81, of Hazlet, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2016 at Bayshore Community Hospital in Holmdel. She was born Joan Bartnik on August 17, 1934 in Jersey City, where she grew up. After marriage, Joan and her husband, Antonio, settled in Hazlet to raise their family. Before retirement, Joan worked for Lily Tulip Co. for over 20 years, and after receiving her associates degree, went on to work for Liberty Mutual Insurance Co. and as an Insurance Agent. She was a parishioner of Holy Family Church in Union Beach and also a member of the Hazlet VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post #4303, a member of the American Legion Post #321 in Union Beach, and a life-time member of the Deborah Foundation.
She was predeceased by her parents, John and Viola (Toffel) Bartnik, and her beloved husband, Antonio "Tony" "Espo" Esposito. Joan is survived by her loving children, Marie Esposito Cairns and her husband, Gregory, of Newton, NC, and John Anthony Esposito of Hazlet, her cherished grandchildren, Danielle Marie Cairns, Gregory Joseph Cairns, and Anthony William Cairns, along with her adored great granddaughter, Arabella Rowe, and many special nieces and nephews, especially Constance and Edward Velasquez. She will be sadly missed, but never forgotten.
Family and friends are invited to visit on Sunday, April 17th from 2 to 6 PM, and Monday, April 18th from 8:45 to 9:30 AM at the Shore Point Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 3269 State Rt. 35 N, Hazlet. Mass of Christian Burial, Monday, April 18th at 10 AM, Holy Family R.C. Church, Union Beach. Entombment, Green Grove Cemetery, Keyport. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Joan to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, www.stjude.org , would be greatly appreciated.
