John McIlwraith, 67, of Middletown, NJ died on July 30, 2014 at Penn Presbyterian Medical Center in Philadelphia, PA. For the past 15 years, John worked as the Chief Engineer for Hilton Worldwide in Piscataway. Prior to that he was Plant Manager at Nestles Beverage Company for 19 years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving in the U. S. Navy. John was a Scout Master for Troop 71 in Oakhurst for 10 years. He could always be found working in the yard or in the garage building or fixing whatever anyone needed.

A man of few words and a selfless heart, John is survived by his wife of 15 years, Linda Runyon-McIlwraith; his daughter and son-in-law, Marilyn Mundy and Larry Chirco of Metuchen; his son and daughter-in-law, John and Kristen McIlwraith of Moorestown; his daughter and son-in-law, Katharine and Paul Williams of Ocean; his daughter, Renee Runyon of Red Bank; his daughter and son-in-law, Allyson and Michael Dworacek of East Windsor; his brother and sister-in-law, William and Susan McIlwraith of FL; his sister, Isabel McIlwraith of VA; 5 grandchildren, Rosemary, Ian, Jessica, Amy, Cara and one on the way; and 2 great-grandchildren, Emily and Mackenzie.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 3, 2014 from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at John F. Pfleger Funeral Home, 115 Tindall Road, Middletown. Funeral services are scheduled for Monday, August 4, 2014 at 9 am at the funeral home. A Funeral Liturgy will be offered on Monday, August 4 at 10 am at St. Anthony of Padua Church, Red Bank. Burial will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Middletown.
