AGE: 84 • Long Branch
John N. Nucci, Sr., 84, of Long Branch, died Thursday, October 20, 2016.
He was born and raised in Red Bank before moving to Long Branch 62 years ago. He was a parimutual clerk at Meadowlands Racetrack in East Rutherford before retiring. After his retirement, he worked security at Monmouth Park Racetrack in Oceanport. He was an Air Force veteran of the Korean Conflict.
He was predeceased by his parents, Nicholas and Rose Nucci and 2 sisters, Minerva and Philomena.
Surviving are his children, Nicholas, John, Michael, Anthony Nucci and Cathie and her husband Cesare Simonelli; 5 grandchildren, Madyson, Alyssa, Alexa, Joseph and Giana and a great-grandson, Jayden.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit from 1-5 pm Sunday the Fiore Funeral Home, 236 Monmouth Road, Oakhurst. Funeral Mass will be offered at 10 am Monday at St. Jerome's Church in West Long Branch followed by entombment at Woodbine Mausoleum in Oceanport. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. For condolences, please visit www.fiorefuneralhomes.com

Dear John, Michael, Anthony and family,
I am very saddened to hear of your loss. My condolences to you and yours on the passing of your father. It is never easy to lose a parent, no matter what our age. These are things that we don't want to happen but have to accept, people we can't live without. Yet they will always live in our hearts.

Please accept my deepest sympathy. Having worked at Monmouth Park and the Meadowlands I knew John since the 70's. I'll always remember John as a gentleman and the laughs that we shared.
