The kind and gentle person he was, I'm sure the one who made him, realized how special he was, to be left in the midst of this cruel world. He belongs to a place that is kind, a place that is away from all the hassles of this world. May his spirit experience celestial peace and heavenly bliss. We met and worket with him for so many years at Playland Sweet Shop and the memories of those days will always be in our hearts.
Nick, Joanne, Kelly and Gina, The best way to honor someone who is not with us anymore is to continue living our life and keep their memory alive through everyday events.I am sure Mr John Panas would have wanted that.

Very sorry to hear about John/Mr Panas' passing. I worked for 2.5 year at Milk Maid in the mid to late 70s + my brother, Tommy, also worked there later. I also would see him often swimming at the White Plains Y in the 80s when I life guarded there. He was a great man, definitely a tough boss too, but a good one! Have many fond memories of my time working at Milk Maid with Mr. Panas & the store is etched in White Plains history! Also want to say I'm impressed at Mr. Panas' service in WW II. Despite knowing him for many years, I never once heard him talk about it so he obviously was humble too. May he RIP & my prayers/condolences to go out to Nick (we met many years ago, but you probably don't remember me), Joanne and family.

On behalf of his AHEPA Chapter, Evzone, New Rochelle 405, the more than 150 Brothers extend their condolences to his family. Brother Panas was an outstanding American, serving his country; a proud Greek Orthodox servant with numerous community accomplishments and an AHEPAN with life time credentials. No commentary would be complete, without mentioning he was a strong and passionate supporter of the winningest team in sports, The New York Yankees.

I worked at Milk Maid through College and Law School and was there the day it closed. I learned quite a bit from John Panas and as tough a boss as he could be (which was pretty tough)I liked and respected him very much.

My sincerest condolences to the Panas family. I have many fond memories of Milk Maid. Trick or treating was so much fun getting Candy Apples instead of candy from the Panas household. God Bless all of you.
