To the Rizzo family my deepest condolences.. John was an amazing man.. a great friend, father, grandfather, brother and husband. A man from the fading generation that were not scared of hard work, always quick to help those in need, he like many others served his country well and came back to create and amazing family built on the family values that created this country. Along the way in his journey he met my grandfather who I know he is with right now laughing loudly over something that only the two of them would understand…John was a true gentleman, he had that warm personality where you just wanted to be around him and that is a gift not many have… John Thank You for being You! and thank you for all you have done for the Donato Family we miss you dearly.

John was my second father. We had lunch together twice a month and talked about the war and the crazy things John and my father did together. He was the most loving and caring person I know and will miss his laughter and the love he gave to my mother and I. Diane Donato (Whiting, NJ)

I will cherish the time that my wife and I got to share with Grandpa over a gigantic bucket of blue shelled crab and being regaled by his stories. He will be missed.
