AGE: 72 • Toms River
John M. Sanko, 72, of Toms River, passed on Monday, May 11, 2015, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in Newark, he lived in Rahway before moving to Toms River in 1978. John was a teacher for Pinelands Regional in Tuckerton he retired in 2003. He was a member of the NJEA. John enjoyed his trips to Las Vegas and Atlantic City.
He is survived by his wife, Diane; two daughters, Melanie and her husband John Biscardi, and Rebecca and her husband Ricardo Candelaria; his loving grandchildren, Adrienne, Maia, Dominic, and Kayden and his sister, Patricia and her husband Joseph Slachetka.
Family will receive relatives and friends from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 13 at the Silverton Memorial Funeral Home, 2482 Church Road, Toms River. Services 2:30 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation private. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Alzheimer's Association, 400 Morris Ave., Suite 251, Denville, NJ 07834 would be appreciated. www.silvertonmemorial.com

Jack was a good teacher friend of mine . We worked together many years n I learned some of the good qualities of a teacher from him . He also loved loved his family and world talk about them everyday ! God bless

Jack was a great teacher to many young kids! They loved him n his quirky ways to learn math. I modeled many of Jack's techniques when I became a teacher ! He loved his family and would talk about them all tbe time! We had many many good times especially our AC gatherings !!!!!

Our sincere condolences to the Sanko family. Unfortunately, Steve and I are still in Florida and will be unable to attend the services. We have known John for a very long time and hope that he rests in peace. We know that it has been tough for the family during the past few years and we are confident that John is in a better place.
