JOHN L. VORBACH, KM
AGE: 84 FORMERLY OF SPRING LAKE
John L. Vorbach, KM, 84, former resident of Spring Lake, NJ for 35 years, passed away last Thursday, July 8, 2010 at Savannah Grace Nursing Home in Mount Pleasant, SC. He was born in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in Queens, NY, living in Spring Lake most of his life before recently moving to Mount Pleasant, SC. He attended Xavier Military Academy in Manhattan, NY and later went on to graduate from Holy Cross College in Worcester, MA. John was owner of the John L. Vorbach Company, Insurance Brokers in Manhattan for 50 years. He was also a proud member of the Knights of Malta.
John is survived by his beloved wife, Rosemary; two sisters, Eileen Petullo and Virginia Naylor; 9 children, Kathleen, Eileen, John, Sally, Charles, Christie, Thomas, Regina, Kelan, and their spouses, 18 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 pm at Neary-Quinn Funeral Home, 39 South Street, Manasquan, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday at 11 am at St. Catharine Church in Spring Lake, NJ. Interment will follow at St. Catharine Cemetery in Wall, NJ. Memorial contributions can be made toward the Haitian relief effort to Food For The Poor, Inc at 6401 Lyons Rd. Coconut Creek, FL 33073 or at foodforthepoor.org and to the Hôpital Sacré Coeur - Crudem Relief Effort at Order of Malta, American Association PO Box 10023 Uniondale, NY 11555-0023 or at www.maltausa.com.
