Edison - Joseph P. Boyle, 90, passed away peacefully on Friday, December 18, 2020, at the Menlo Park Veterans Memorial Home in Edison, of natural causes.

Joe was born in Bryn Mawr, PA to the late Joseph Boyle and Annie McGill. He graduated from St. Clemans Grammar School in Ardmore, PA in 1944, and from West Philadelphia Catholic High School for Boys in 1948. Joe graduated from Villanova University in Villanova, PA in 1957.

Joe married his wife, Jeanne Naisby in 1958. They moved to Edison, NJ in 1963 and resided there for the past 57 years.

Joe was a Postal Inspector for the United States Postal Service where he worked for 26 years. After retiring from the postal service, Joe spent 20 years in his "retirement" job at Middlesex County College.

Joe served in the US Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #3272 in Metuchen; the VFW Post #3117 in Edison and also a member of the National Association of Retired Postal Inspectors.

Joe enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, traveling, and an adult beverage of his choice.

Joe is predeceased by his brother, John "Fats" Boyle. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Jeanne Boyle; his 2 daughters, JoAnne Fry (husband, Cliff) of Byram Township, and Marie Pittaluga (husband, Carlos) of Metuchen; his son, Craig Boyle (wife, Eileen) of Manasquan; and his 7 grandchildren, Kelly Piekarski and her husband Michael, Jacci & Jodie Fry, Jamie Fry and her partner Hannah, Casey Boyle, and Danielle & Jimmy Pittaluga.

There will be a Mass of Christian Burial at St. Francis Cathedral, Metuchen on Monday, December 28, 2020 at 10:15 am. The interment will be at Hillside Cemetery, Scotch Plains.
