Joseph DeBello Obituary
AGE: 86 • Brick
Joseph "Joe Burke" DeBello, 86, of Brick, passed away on May 13, 2013 at his home. Born and raised in Garfield, NJ, he always held love for his hometown. He was a former resident of Teaneck and Vernon before moving to Brick in 1982, and then to Greenbriar I, 18 years ago. Joseph served his country in the US Army during World War II. Joseph was a hard worker with a heart of gold. During his life he started a trucking company in the textile industry, ending his career as an engineer with the Department of Defense in Toms River. He was proud of his Italian heritage, having been a lifelong member UNICO, and an Elks member, and adored time spent with his cherished family. Joseph was always singing, and was part of the Golden Tones Choir at Greenbriar. He had a natural talent and enjoyed dancing most of all with his beloved wife, Ann of 49 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Ann in 2007. Surviving are their loving children, Peter and wife Marcia, Michael and wife Maritza DeBello, Jodi DeBello Chassey and husband Robert, his cherished grandchildren Maggyanna, Annalise, and Madalena, his dear sisters Pauline Vita and Connie Repetti, and many extended family and friends.
Visitation will be held from, 2-4 and 7-9 on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at O'Brien Funeral Home, 505 Burnt Tavern Road, Brick. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9AM on Friday at St. Dominic R.C. Church, Brick. Interment will follow at the New Jersey Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown.

Joe was a good man who I had the honor of working with at the Toms River Armory for many years. A very pleasant man with a great sense of responsibility and loyalty. I am sorry that I did not get a chance to visit. God Bless. I will advise the members of C Battery that thought of him as family.
