Joseph DiGuiseppe Obituary
AGE: 86 • Belmar
Joseph DiGuiseppe, 86, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2011, at his home in Belmar. Born in Bradley Beach, he lived most of his life in Belmar. He was a member and firefighter of the Belmar Union Fire Company for over 50 years. He also worked as a Union Pipe fitter for J.F. Kiely Construction, Long Branch for 26 years. Prior to that, he served his country in the United States Marine Corps. First, he served as a Private First Class in World War II. Upon his discharge, he received the Asiatic-Pacific Medal, the World War II Victory Medal, the American Campaign Medal and the Navy Occupation Medal. He also served in the Korean War as a Sergeant. Upon his discharge, he received the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal and a Presidential Unit Citation, as well as a Korean Presidential Unit Citation.
Joseph is survived by his ex-wife, Helen May DiGuiseppe; two sons, Michael and his wife Linda of Belmar, and Steven and his wife Tracey of Wall; a daughter, Diana Ramsden and her husband Richard of Florence, Mass.; and six grandchildren, David, Kayla, R.J. and Kristina Ramsden and Matthew and Jillian DiGuiseppe.
Viewing hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 13 from Reilly Funeral Home, 801 D St., Belmar. The Belmar Union Fire Company will hold a service at 7 p.m. A funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will be private at Brigadier General W.C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Wrightstown, NJ. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Belmar Union Fire Company, 9th Avenue and E Street, Belmar, NJ 07719 in memory of Joseph.
