Joseph Fama

AGE: 76 • North Brunswick

Joseph Fama died Thursday, Nov. 10, 2011, at St. Peter's University Hospital in New Brunswick. He was 76. Born in San Pier Niceto, Sicily, Italy he had lived in Venezuela before moving to North Brunswick 40 years ago. He was a construction worker for the New Jersey Building Laborers Local #594 in East Brunswick where he worked for 25 years before retiring in 1997. After retirement he had worked at Walmart in North Brunswick. Mr. Fama was a communicant of St. Bartholomew R.C. Church in East Brunswick. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose, Lodge #263 in North Brunswick and the Italian American Club in Edison. He was an avid fisherman and a lover of life.

Surviving are his wife, Blanca Bonalde Fama; two daughters and their husbands, Sarina and James Schroeder of North Brunswick and Nancy and Drew Giorgi of Dayton; six grandchildren, Christian Puntorno of Dayton and Katrina Schroeder, Natacha Schroeder, Rachel Schroeder, Cassandra Schroeder and Lucas Giorgi, all of North Brunswick; and a sister, Domenica Fama of North Brunswick.

Funeral services will be 9:00 AM Monday from Selover Funeral Home, 555 Georges Road, followed by a 10:00 AM Mass at St. Bartholomew Church in East Brunswick. Friends and relatives may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM.
