Joseph Farias Obituary
AGE: 89 • Forked River
Joseph J. Farias, age 89, of Forked River Lacey, died Thursday March 8, 2012, at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Mr. Farias was born in Fall River, Massachusetts living in Paterson, NJ until moving to Forked River, Lacey full time in 1990, after enjoying their home in Forked River for weekends since 1969. Mr. Farias was employed with Raybestos-Manhattan, Garfield, NJ for 32 years retiring in 1989. He was a parishioner of the Church of Saint Pius X, a member of the American Legion Post 517 of Lacey Township and also was a Navy Veteran of World War II.
Surviving is his wife of 64 years Anita, three sons Rev. Joseph Farias, Morristown, NJ, Robert Farias, Haskell, NJ and Richard Farias of Illinois; two brothers James Farias, Garfield, NJ and Donald Farias, West Milford, NJ; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be Sunday afternoon 1-5pm at the Layton's Home For Funerals, Forked River, NJ. Relatives and friends may arrive 830 am Monday at the funeral home. A funeral mass will be celebrated 930 am at the Church of Saint Pius X. Burial will follow at Saint Joseph's cemetery, Toms River, NJ
