Joseph Gorecki Obituary
Wall
Joseph S. Gorecki, of Four Seasons in Wall Township, passed away Sunday, Feb. 12, 2012, at Ocean Medical Center, Brick. Joseph was born and raised in Elizabeth. He graduated from Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, N.Y., where he received his Professional Engineering degree specializing in Mechanical Engineering. While at Pratt, Joseph was very active in the ROTC program rising to the highest student rank of Cadet Colonel. He then attended Officer Training School, served and was honorably discharged as a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. Joseph worked as an engineer for Westinghouse (North American Phillips) for almost 35 years and retired as Plant Manager/Director of Operations of the company's lamp division. Joseph and his wife wintered in Naples, Fla. He was an avid golfer and founding member of Shore Oaks Golf Club, very active in Four Seasons at Wall, enthusiastic NY Giants, Rangers and Mets fan, and loved listening to Polka music. In Joseph's life, it was family first and all else second. The Red Cross recognized Joseph for his 35 years of blood donations.
Joseph was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Lucille Gorecki. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Angela (nee Pulito) of Wall; two daughters and two sons-in-law, Judee and Bob Quinlan of Wall, and Trish and Chris Byrnes of New Rochelle, N.Y. Joseph is also survived by six grandchildren, John Patrick "JP", Ryan Joseph, Christopher Robert Seton, Molly Caitlin, Owen Michael and Maeve Grace.
Relatives and friends are invited to call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15 at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 16 at St. Denis Church, Manasquan. Entombment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 332 N. Lauderdale, Memphis, TN 38105.
