Joseph T. Snable, Sr.

AGE: 73 • Brick

Joseph T. Snable, Sr., age 73 of Brick, NJ passed away with his family by his side on Friday, August 11, 2017. Joseph was born and raised in Newark, NJ to the late, Walter and Minnie Snable on June 26, 1944. Joseph proudly served his country in the US Army during the Vietnam War, becoming a Disabled American Veteran due to Agent Orange. After being honorably discharged from the military, Joseph became a recipient of the Army Commendation Medal. He soon after relocated to Atlantic Highlands, where he would continue his education at Brookdale College and the Union Technical Institute. Until his retirement, Joseph was the owner and operator of Joe's Auto in Atlantic Highlands. Along with his wife, they relocated to Brick, NJ four years ago. He was the past president of the Atlantic Highlands Lion's Club, a life member of the Veterans Affairs and a current member of the VFW Post 8867, Brick, NJ.

Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Virginia "Ginny" Lahr Snable, by his son Joseph J. Snable and his wife Lori of Shrewsbury, NJ and by the joy of his life his grandchildren, Patrick and Alexandra Snable. Joseph is also survived by his brothers, Doug Snable and Walter "Skip" Snable and his wife Edna; by his sister and brother-in-law Maureen and John Glynn; and by his nieces, Shauna, Ashley and Amanda.

The family will receive relatives and friends for a memorial gathering on Monday, August 14, 2017 from 2:00 to 5:00pm with a 4:30pm religious service at Colonial Funeral Home, 2170 Highway 88 Brick, NJ 08724. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Joseph's memory to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) Chapter 20 - 1810 Lanes Mill Road Brick, NJ 08724.

Joe was always such a help to my Mom when she had car troubles. So very kind and patient, which was what you had to be with her. So sorry to learn of his passing.
