Kenneth Balla Obituary

Kenneth George Balla

Kenneth George Balla, age 64, of Toms River, NJ, passed away at his home on Saturday, August 14th. Ken and his soulmate Barbara married in 1983 and then settled in Toms River in 1985, where they built their dream home and together raised a family with two children, Melanie and Kenny. Ken was a beloved husband and father, as well as a wonderful grandfather to three granddaughters that endlessly adored their 'Papa'. He loved spending time in nature and outdoors, especially going skiing and camping with family.

A man that could truly do it all, Ken went from working in computers at IBM to starting his own successful small-business in the 1990s, KG Balla Heating & Air. He was also active for many years with Boy Scout Troop 52. Ken never met a job or task he could not complete.

Ken was predeceased by his mother, Irene, and his sister, Melissa. Ken is survived by his devoted wife of 38 years, Barbara; his daughter Melanie, son-in-law Rory, and three grandchildren Vanessa, Abigail, and Penelope; his son Kenny and daughter-in-law Amanda; his father George and step-mother Ruth; his brother Keith and sister-in-law Karen; his brother Wayne; his step-sister Jennifer and brother-in-law Rod; his step-sister Linda and her fiancé John; and many nieces and nephews.

Ken will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

You were a wonderful son-in law. A family could never hope for a better husband for their daughter. Barbara's father (deceased) and I loved you like a son. We thank God for the wonderful life you shared. Losing someone so special to their wife and children can be difficult but may your special love sustain them in their loss. You will be missed.

There were so many funny moments we shared with you as you helped to guide Troop 52. The Scouts are better men because of all that you did for them. Your memory will be forever with us. Our condolences to your family
