Nancy M. (Holminski) Balla, 87, of Springfield, Va., formerly of Glen Lyon, Newport Township, passed away Tuesday, May 27, 2025, after a brief illness.
Born Jan. 22, 1938, in Glen Lyon, she was the daughter of the late Edmund and Elizabeth Humphrey Holminski.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda; and her brother, William Holminski.
She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Balla) Van Balen and her husband Paul, of Springfield, Va., with whom she resided; her daughter, Robin (Balla) Mahon and her husband James, of Sparta, N.J.; and her grandchildren, Alexander Mahon and Ashley Mahon.
The family would like to thank the doctors and staff at Iliff Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Dunn Loring, Va., for the care that they provided.
In accordance with her wish, interment will be private in St. John the Baptist Slovak Cemetery in Glen Lyon, Pa.
Arrangements are in the care of Dinelli Family Funeral Home, 170 E. Broad St., Nanticoke, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer's Association or the charity of your choice.

Worked with Nancy at Eberhard Faber in the early 60´s. Fortunately for me she had a car and I was able to ride with her to work. Even in bad weather, driving to Mountaintop wasn´t easy. Sad to learn of her passing. Nice woman.
