Kenneth Hunter Obituary

Kenneth "Kenny' G. Hunter

AGE: 55 • Toms River

Kenneth "Kenny" G. Hunter, 55, of Toms River, NJ died peacefully at home on Sunday April 24, 2016. Born in Elizabeth, NJ, Kenny attended Roselle Catholic H.S. and NJIT, where he graduated with Honors in Electrical Engineering Technology. He worked as a Senior Construction Supervisor for PSE&G. Kenny is predeceased by his father Frank and his sister Kathleen. He is survived by his beloved fiancée Carol Ziegler, his mother Kathleen "Kay" Hunter, his sister Janet Swearingen and husband Fred, his brothers: Frank and wife Cathy; Brian and wife Adrienne; Glen and wife Lisa, nieces Kelly and Michelle Hunter, step sons Eric and Scott Ziegler and their spouses Dana and Lindsey, along with four step grandchildren Austin, Addison, Emma and Bella.

Kenny grew up on Gibson Place in Elizabeth NJ and still has many lifelong friends from there. He relocated to Toms River in 1997, where he met his lifelong partner Carol of 18 years. Together they settled in Bay Shore.

Kenny was an avid boater who loved Island Beach State Park sunrises and Barnegat Bay sunsets. He enjoyed clamming, crabbing and fishing. Kenny took astronomy classes at Ocean County Community College to further his knowledge and love of the stars. The tales of his epic journeys on land and sea will never be forgotten by all of those who knew him. Kenny's great laugh, witty humor and gifted ability to play the guitar and banjo will be greatly missed. Kenny left his imprint on the hearts of everyone.

Was a classmate and friend of Ken during our High School Years. So sad to see him gone so young. Thoughts and prayers to the family. Ken was a barrel of fun the 4 years we shared together. We particularly loved gym class together where we were an unstoppable duo. Rest in Peace Kenny - Till we meet again.
