AGE: 47 • Forked River
Lisa Louise Grippaldi-Finnegan, 47, of the Forked River section of Lacey Twsp.N.J. went to be home with the Lord on Monday August 5, 2013 at the home of her parents. Born in Rochester, New York Lisa has been a resident of Lacey for 44 years. She attended The University of California, South California, Pennsylvania and graduated from Georgian Court University, Lakewood, New Jersey. Mrs. Grippaldi-Finnegan previously taught at the Southern Region Middle School. She was a member of the Forked River Baptist Church and served as a Deaconess at the Church. Lisa was a great baker and had many of her recipes published. One of Lisa's greatest loves was gardening. Lisa had a big heart and loved and was loved by many.
She is survived by her Husband Thomas Finnegan- Forked River, N.J. 3 Daughters: Brittany Grippaldi-Forked River, N.J. Rebecca Finnegan-Forked River, N.J. Kendall Finnegan-Forked River, N.J. Her Parents: Nicholas & Louise (nee Wright) Grippaldi- Forked River, N.J. Her Maternal Grandmother: Avah Wright-Auburn, N. Y. 1 Sister: Chris Grippaldi-Middletown, N.J. 1 Uncle: Gary Wright-Auburn, N.Y. Many Aunts, Uncles and Cousins.
The family would like to give a special recognition to Michelle, Monti, Michelle, Sisssy and family for the compassion and assistance given to them during Lisa's illness.
The family will receive friends and family on Friday 11AM until 1PM at The Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals , O'Connell Chapel, 706 Rt. 9, Bayville, New Jersey. The funeral service will take place at 1PM at the funeral home with Pastor Michael Mrkzek presiding. Burial will follow at The Good Luck Cemetery, Forked River, New Jersey. In lieu of flowers the family has asked for donation to: Samaritan Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, N.C 28607-Phone # 828.262.1980 or The 700 Club, Christian Broadcasting Network, 977 Centerville Turnpike, Virginia Beach, Va. 23463. Lisa you are sorely missed dear friend.. you were like a sister to Sis and me.. so many conversations about what really matters in this life .. you were a gentle loving believer in Jesus Christ and you shared so much with all of us... I was one of Brittany's teachers, and Mrs. Grippaldi was one of the wonderful "mommies" I had the pleasure of knowing during my teaching career. I am so sorry to hear of her passing. Thankfully we know that Lisa is at peace in Heaven. Over the years as Lisa talked with us around the kitchen table or around the firepit Lisa would ask us "do you know how to get to heaven"? Lisa always knew "she would go to heaven" and desperately wanted us to know the path to heaven too. Genuine, committed to her beliefs, gentle yet strong, brave, sincere . . . . . that was Lisa. She loved God and she loved her Country. Words cannot express how much we will miss Lisa.
