Louis "Louie" George Argyris

Sarasota, FL - Louis "Louie" George Argyris, 94, of Sarasota FL, passed away Friday, June 4th surrounded by his family.

Louie was born and raised in Newark, NJ into a large Greek Family. He graduated from Seton Hall Prep and then enlisted in the U.S Navy. Following the war, Louie started multiple retail and real estate businesses. Louie eventually settled in the Philadelphia area where he began a 60-year career of real estate development and management.

The life in his years were full, from seeing sailing races like the Americas Cup to winters spent skiing and adventures exploring different corners of the world. Life with Louie was full of excitement, excellent food, love, and laughter but never a dull moment. He loved sharing meals with friends at his favorite restaurants in Philadelphia, Sarasota or around the world. He also loved to teach those around him the secrets of Greek Cooking, always more garlic and olive oil, and hosting dinner parties for all occasions. Louie loved the arts, both appreciating great works of art or performances and creating his own paintings. He also had a passion for history and enjoyed many afternoons consumed in a good book. Louie was proud of the businesses he built, the life he created, the Eagles finally winning the Super Bowl, but mostly of his friends who were his family. The stories of his life and its adventures will continue to bring people together.

Family and his Greek heritage were strong pillars in Louie's life. Louie was very proud that he was able to restore his family's home in the Greek countryside. He loved being able to share his home and boat in Greece with his friends and family. His love and loyalty show through the many friendships that held strong through his decades of life.

Louis is predeceased by his brother Peter Argyris and his cherished sister Esther Chrisicos.

Louis is survived by his many Argyris Family cousins, goddaughters, and cherished friends all over the world.

A mass will be offered Friday, June 18th at 11 am at St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 1033 West Park Avenue, Ocean Township. A burial will follow at St. George Greek Orthodox Cemetery, 2342 West Bangs Avenue, Neptune.
