MARGARET E. "PEGGY" SHORT
AGE: 83 HOLIDAY CTIY
Margaret E. "Peggy" Short, 83, of the Holiday City section of Berkeley, passed away Saturday, Jan. 17, 2009, at Jefferson University Hospital, Philadelphia, Pa., after a courageous struggle. She was born in Frankfurt, Germany and immigrated to the United States in 1947. She lived many years in Lyndhurst before retiring to the Toms River area three and a half years ago. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Eclipse Chapter No. 226, Lyndhurst; also the Coffee Timers Bowling League in North Arlington for over 20 years.
Surviving are her beloved husband of 62 years, Wilbert; two children and their spouses, Margie and Andy Kraemer, and Bob and Lorraine Short; three grandchildren, Laura Ferrara, Douglas Short, and Michael Short; two great-grandchildren, Torrie and Matthew Ferrara; and a sister, Edith Conrad of Germany.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 until the service at noon at Quinn-Hopping Funeral Home of Toms River, 26 Mule Road. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made in Peggy's name to Popcorn Park Zoo Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, Lacey Road, Forked River, NJ 08731. http://www.ahscares.org. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home for your convenience.
